Request for Text in Alternate Format

In order to fulfill your requests for alternately formatted textbooks more quickly and accurately, we ask that you fill out the form below.

Please note:

  • This form is for Bedford/St. Martin's titles only. Please see this page for disability requests for other titles.
  • This form must be filled out by a school official, not by the student.
  • Please fill out a separate form for each title you are requesting.
  • There is no charge for this service, but the student must have a documented disability and must purchase the hard-copy of the text book. Confirmation by a school official is sufficient proof.
  • Files mailed out are saved on CD. For faster delivery, they can be posted to our website for download.
  • While we strive for a 10 business day turnaround, it can take 3-4 weeks to fulfill requests during the rush season (August—September & December—January).

    Files supplied are generally unlocked PDFs (although some titles are available in both formats). If an unlocked PDF is not an acceptable format, MS Word files can be created by the publisher but the waiting time could be as long as one month.

    Note:

    • If files are small enough, they will be e-mailed to you.
    • Some files are very large. If you cannot accept files on DVD, please choose the "CD only" delivery option. Please note that we may be required to send multiple CDs.
    • If your network administrator blocks .ZIP files at your firewall, please choose the CD or DVD options as we ZIP all of our files.
    • We will only ship to a school office, not to the student directly.
    • We cannot ship to PO boxes.
